can i use small oil catch can?

can i use small oil catch can, like the one on a air tool as long as its oil seperator, I hear use only a 3 quart but this one is like 3oz, what would the effect be using a smaller one?

Mr. Fleming. I think your bypass valve is mounted backwards. The vacuum line should be inline with the direction the air will travel under vacuum, which is away from the pressurized intercooler pipe.
