MAP3
Universal 3-Bar Manifold Pressure Sensor
For turbocharged & supercharged engines.
These are brand new sensors; direct from the manufacturer.
Not cleaned up junkyard / salvage parts !
The MAP3 is true universal 3-bar automotive manifold pressure sensor. It has a simple 3-wire interface. Does not use any expensive connectors/pigtails. And, does not require a special 5-volt power source / regulator. It will operate on a supply voltage of 5v to 15v DC, while maintaining the same 0-5v output range. The pressure hose fitting is designed to accept either 1/4" ID vacuum hose; or, the 1/8" OD white hard plastic line, commonly used with vacuum/boost gages.
The MAP3 is a good choice for custom ECUs, piggy-back controllers, Water/Alcohol injection controllers, data-loggers, etc. Such as Megasquirt, Hondata, HALTECH, DFI, MSD, Innovate Motorsports, or any other device that accepts a 0v-5v input.
You can download the manual ( PDF format ) by clicking here.
The MAP3 output spans the range of 0 to 5 vdc over the pressure range of 0-pisa to 44.1-psia. ( 0 to 3 bar )
This equates to about 30 inches of Mercury (in-Hg) of vacuum to 30psi of boost at standard pressure/temperature conditions (sea level ). Open-air/Atmospheric reading at sea level ( 14.7psia ) approximately 1.6-1.7 volts. Sensitivity is ~ 1.13v/psi +/- 1% fS. Actual value will vary with altitude, etc.
The 0-to-5 volt output range is independent of the supply voltage. The MAP3 will operate on either 5v sensor power; or, 12v battery/ignition power. No special 5v source or regulator is required. This makes the MAP3 ideal for custom ECUs and data-logging installations.
Connection is simple. No special connectors or pigtails required. Just connect as follows:
RED WIRE +5v power or +12v Ignition power
BLACK WIRE Chassis ground or ECU ground
GREEN WIRE Gage/ECU or Data-logger 0-5v Input
$5.00 flate-rate shipping within the continental USA.
Combined shipping and OEM quantities / pricing is available for multiple items.
