Thanks fellers. I already knew that the overcharging issue was something I did not want to prolong. I'm going to replace the Voltage Regulator tonight and see where I sit.

I'm with Blue on this. It's no surprise and everyone knows that you are the local expert on outgassing!

I sure hope that Tron Suit has flame retardant!

Back on subject, I went out and measured a couple of cars for battery drain. Hooking up the digital volt meter(DVM) in series with the battery (between the negative post and the negative cable)I saw something less than 100 millivolts max. One of the cars had a steady drain near 50mV. The clock, radio and EEC provided a steady drain and on the Cobra the largest drain I encountered was from the alarm system. Looking through my logs I show a defective door jam switch and a sticking power window switch draining the battery pretty quickly.

Tony, step away from teh Margaritaville...If you hooked up the meter the way you say you did, there is no way you would have read any voltage. You sure you weren't reading current??

If you are reading .25A or 250mA or greater, then you need to look for a problem.

Bad voltage regulator....swapped in another one and the voltage sat at 14.3 volts at idle. This also appeared to be the battery drain problem too.
