Thanks for the info. I'm not finished looking even though it is running much better. I actually plan on removing and jumpering that switch too, to see if it makes a difference (I was thinking of taking it off anyway to eliminate one more vacuum leak source).Kevin Boyd

Time for an update of my original problem.
I think much is not all of my problem cam from infrequent driving.
My grandson crashed my Turbo coupe [daily driver] a short time back so the SVO was brought up to take it's place.
Granted I do run with octane booster/premium mix but it respondes like it should, 2500/3000 to 6000+ quick and smooth.
Thanks for listening to me and all the suggestions.

Could you post a picture of that? I'd like to try the same thing.Originally posted by Gyrhead View PostI just went through this with my 86 2R. After much diagnosis, it turned out to be both the KS and the vacuum/pressure actuated fuel pump voltage switch. In case you didn't know, there is a vac switch up against the driver's firewall (in 85.5 and 86 cars, IIRC) that feeds full voltage to the FP when the vac signal drops and reverts to pressure on WOT. I peeled back the rubber sock, unplugged the switch and jumpered the pigtail. Instant fix. I took it easy till the KS was replaced tho.
