  • Here's a photo of the Blown Headgasket

I was really pleased to find the Head Gasket was REALLY blown, not just cracked or leaking slightly.
It was blowing oil out the back and into the coolant, and it had a bad miss at idle.
The new gasket I'm putting on tonite is the Felpro1035 and I've sprayed it w/ a few coats of Permatex Copper stuff. Hopefully It'll never blow one again!
-oh, I'll toss in a pic of my repainted valve cover. It's not a 4 star, but considering it was the white oxidized aluminum I'm pleased.

That is exactly how I did it on mine, but got the chrome one. FYI...it is still clean. Nice and white with no oil blowing out.

Last night at 1 am I finished the underhood work of putting the headgasket on and buttoning it up. It went back together great and just needs anti-freeze and oil. Well, ok, I haven't put the distributor or wires on it, PCV valve, plugs, or alternator bracket I bought off e-bay (waiting on their delivery).

        -Can't wait to drive it!

I've gone over, tweaked, clean and adjusted every little part.
