Cool thanx for the info/read, I agree good info. I have spent some time over on the Bobistheoilguy forums to read up on what folks have to say on there. Some BS, some good info YMMV. I have been using the high mileage version of Castrol GTX for several years now. I know some folks say to use the diesel formulas of oil as they are supposed to be higher in zinc content as well, but I have never tried any of those versions.

I personally use mobile 1 dosed with ''cam sheild'' which is a zink additive thats doseable. This alows you to run between 1400ppm or 2500ppm for break in.

One of my local club folks runs straight 30 weight with a zinc additive in his 1982 GT with a warmed up 5.0L. Any time you break in a new slider cam it is a great investment in running what the cam mfg recommends to prevent wiping the new stick flat. Heck, even the Grease Monkey folks had to learn that the hard way.
