  • Upper Radiator Hose

I was looking at some photos online and then my 85.5 and I noticed that my upper hose doesn’t look correct. What is a part number for it and are the correct shape hoses out there?

I don't have the Ford number for it, but I replaced my OEM hoses back around 2015 with Dayco units. I figured I was pushing my luck at track days and road trips to the Reunions on 29 year old hoses

The Dayco units both fit spot on to the OEM hoses, the only change was the lower Dayco hose didn't have a spring on the inside the hose, which is there to prevent hose collapse at higher RPM's. A quick call to Dayco explained that they no longer put support springs in their lower hoses and have incorporated reinforcement into the hose itself to prevent collapse. So far, I haven't had any cooling issues. Current pricing from Rock Auto is ~$28, so not bad at all.

    Upper hose: Dayco 71555
    Lower hose: Dayco 70962
