  • Injector harness wire diagram

I pulled of my injector harness some time ago and like an idiot I didn't mark them. Does anyone have a wiring diagram that shows the colors of the wires( which I can barely see on mine). Its an 84.My POS manual doesn't have a diagram and I checked gt350's site but couldn't find anything.I really want to get this thing running the motor is finally together except for this and a bracket I can't figure out .
    Thanks
    Rick

According to the print I have (Its for an 85) the wires are:
Inj #1-red wire and a tan w/red dash
    Inj #2- same
Inj#3- red wire and a tan /orange dash
    Inj #4- same

Set your injector subharness on there and they might "fall" into place being the wires may have kept their various curves and all. If these don't work let me know, I'll go take a look at my 84.

Unfortunately the harness has been in a box for a couple of years and it seems it can go a few different ways.

Now that I'm at this point on mine... Looking at the diagrams, it would seem to me if you got 1&2 or 3&4 switched it wouldn't fire correctly? Yes/No?

Injectors 1 and 2 are wired together and likewise 3 and 4 are wired together. This follows the firing order of 1-3-4-2. If you shift things around and put the 2 at the beginning instead of the end , the firing order goes 2-1-3-4. Now it is easy to see why they are wired the way they are. True, the fuel for cylinders 1 and 4 is not as freshly atomized as the fuel for cylinders 2 and 3, but in reality it is very difficult to measure any difference in performance between a 2 bank batch setup and a true 4 channel SEFI setup on a 4 cylinder engine.
I guess thats more than you wanted to know !

Really? I always thought they fired 2 at a time too. Interesting...

Mutant is right though, batch fire won't hurt performance. Sequential is better for emissions, and maybe a little MPG.

                  fathoms/fortnight, etc.

Mike could you repeat that five times fast?

Great explanation. To swipe a line from Gator, could you type that out again a bit slower so that I have a little more time to understand?

Someone owes you a beer for that dissertation (not me, but someone). If they don't pay up, I'll buy you a beer next time you're in town.
