  • starting trouble

i was just wondering if a weak starter would drain the elekticity to the injectors and keaping them from opening on the start posision? and could this be the reason that the car would start with the help of eather in the air cleaner?

A weak electrical system will have an effect on the fuel pump. If you are not getting the proper voltage to the fuel pump, it might not be giving you enough fuel pressure to start.

Check your fuel pressure with a guage when the key is turned on. Should be between 32 - 38 psi. Crank the car and watch the guage to see if the pressure drops.

Pat in LA had a slow cranking car and found out that the fuel pump hose in the tank had split and he wasn't getting enough gas at start up.
