  • What's this bracket for II

Here's a picture of a heat sheild that goes inbetween #4 & #3 on the exhaust manifold. My question is - Does anyone who has an original 1986 SVO that came with an E6 have this heat shield? Any one with an original 1986 (or eariler) SVO with an E3 have this heat shield?

    Thanks,

I've got nothing like that on my original owner 84 with E3.

Dont hold me to it but i think its a shield for the oil line that goes/comes from the turbo.

          Heat shield

Sorry Rich, I know I should have been more specific. In the 1986 Ford car shop manual, page 21-05-16, figure 21, there is a heat shield for a turbo charged engine. Since this is a 1986 Ford manual, I figured the photo was representing a E6 exhaust manifold. My 86 car built on 12-4-85 came with a E3 and did not come with this heat shield.

I'm just trying to find out if any SVO's (maybe with a E6) came with this heat shield. Some cars did, because it shows it in the manual and I've got the part. Maybe it came only on turbo coupes and not SVO's. Just trying to find out if any SVO's came with this part.

          Thanks,
