I mentioned pulling the shifter when I planned on pulling the transmission. Does it still need to come out?

No, that can stay in place if you are leaving your tranny on the cross member. But, I would still suggest disconnecting the boot from the handle, since the movement may end up tugging on it a bit and damage it.Ted

What do you all think of these pistons condition? Engine has about 1500 miles since previous rebuild. Running E85, btw.

I agree with Eric, that is a lot of soot build up for 1500 miles, IMHO. Running flat tops too, so at least 9.0:1 compression, which shouldn't be an issue with E85. May want to have the injectors flowed/verified they are matched while you have things apart to start with.Ted

We converted to E85 because the machine shop ordered and installed the wrong pistons. I would think the injectors are ok as they were brand new when installed at the same 1500 miles ago. Guess it couldn't hurt, though.Originally posted by svono50 View PostI agree with Eric, that is a lot of soot build up for 1500 miles, IMHO.
