  • Trouble code #25 knock sensor

So I cleaned up some of my trouble codes like for O2 sensor, but I had the #25 "knock sensor not sensing during dynamic response test". And yes, I had the #77 operator error before I learned to blip throttle at "goose" code for dynamic response test. So I figured, just replace the knock sensor, it's cheap. Replacement didn't look exactly like original (top image), but I changed it and went for a drive. Car runs great. Ran KOER test again and have same #25 code. Any suggestions?

ummm, more operator error? did you 'ping' the intake during the test ?

will also say, Knock sensors can be extremely 'touchy' -- based on torque, and condition of the threads, and lubricant, and teflon tape .....

Ok, I'll try that because I'm blipping throttle manually at throttle. Can't see tach and have one hand with phone recording my light flashing.

Very common on these. With the low compression these engines have and under a no boost blip of the throttle they really don't "knock". May have to tap the manifold in order for it to pass.
