No fuel pressure

    It looks like they didn't use gasoline rated hose or that has been in the tank for a long time. Based on the color of the inlet filter, I would replace the pump. Cheap insurance.

      All done and runs great now. Replaced pump and the damn hose with specific high pressure fuel hose. Hopefully it will last another 30 years. LOL

        That was some messed up hose!! I had to replace the whole kit on our 86, too (tank/pump/pickup/sender/filter) because it sat too long.

          Great news, the 'issue' certainly presented itself once you pulled out the pump. I have never seen the outer covering of a hose dissolve like that where it exposed the fiber reinforcement...YIKES!! Should be good for another 30 years for that item ;-)
