What is a CBV ???
You should start off by doing a lot of searches- - cause a lot of this info has been covered --
By-pass or blowoff- -- easy --
You need a bypass --
A blow-off valve will vent air that has already been meetered by the VAM into the atmosphere -- making your car run VERY rich until things catch back up. -- and no ricer pssst --
BTW -- a bypass valve is just a blow-off valve that pushes the air back into the system
gutted intakes, -- they're OK, but I don't think they make much difference from my experience
SVO's already have T3 turbos, or are you talking about a different car?Eric C

The "ricer psssss" is all dependent upon what sort of blow off valve you use. The Blitz is one example of sound over function. It functions the same as any BOV, however they brag about just how loud they are.
Personally, I'm going with a TiAL BOV tapped into my end tank on a TC intercooler. They sound great (i.e. not abnoxiously loud), and not having to recirculate the air is just one less thing to worry about. From my research, the excessively rich state doesn't really hinder the performance on the SVO. Some cars will stall, but that doesn't seem to be the case with the 2.3T.1984 SSP Mustang (ex-FHP)

A compressor bypass valve (CBV) is a vacuum-actuated valve designed to release pressure from the intake tract of a turbo car when the throttle closes. It re-circulates the air back into the intake before the turbo inlet, but after the airflow sensor.
A blow-off valve (BOV) does the same thing, but the released air is vented into the atmosphere.
so manly what you are saying is go wiht a cbv instead fo a bov to resurculate the air back into the intakeif you can't beat him blind him with your hair

OK -- why did you feel the need to explain the same thing to me, I just explained to you? --
I've just never seen it with a C in front of it, and just always called it a bypass valve
But using that logic, why wouldn't you call a BOV a CBOV?
Now that I look at your profile, this thread gets locked. This is not a forum to discuss your SVO engine in your 89 mustang, --You purposely dodged the question about what car you have, and that is why the thread is locked --Eric C
