  • Vacuum line Inquiry

If you look on the intake manifold, there are two vacuum lines just behind the throttle body on the side opposite the firewall: one feeds to the FPR, but where does the larger line go? I haven't had a chance to take a real close look, but it almost looks as if this feeds the factory boost gauge. If this is the case, would there be any adverse effects if I were to relocate the pickup for this vacuum line back where the EGR use to be (i.e. fabricate a blockoff with a brass vacuum fitting)?

Reason I ask is this factory fitting just behind the throttle body is in an absolutely perfect location to feed a vacuum line to my Tial BOV mounted to the stock intercooler. The location where the EGR was is also just about perfect to feed that "mystery line" disappearing into the firewall. Using my better judgement I decided to ask you guys instead of diving head first into this small endeavor based on a hunch.

    Alan,

The other line is the main vacuum line that feeds the vacuum tree mounter on the firewall. There shouldn't be any problem with putting a "T" in that line to feed your BOV.
