Ok, i dont know much about my svo or cars in general period. I am wanting to put bigger injectors on my early 85. I realize you have to have a mass air flow sensor to match but... where can you get one? All the ones i see always say for 5.0!!! I get really tired of seeing that! If you could point me to a site that sells them or a way to do it i would appreciate it, thanks,
A.J.
Since you have the early 85, you probably have 30 lb injectors. To upgrade your injectors, you only need to upgrade your EEC to a LA3 from an 88 Turbo Coupe. They are set up for the 35 lb. injectors. That will bump you up to about 200 HP similar to the '86. Do a search here and on the web for the swap procedure.
The SVO has a Volume Air Flow meter and not a Mass Air Flow meter. To use the MAF, you will have to do some other things I know little about. And since you profess to not knowing much about the SVO, I would put off that upgrade until you become more SVO savvy. There are guys here that are making close to 300 RWHP with the stock VAF and 35 lb. injectors.
Start with the Sticky in the engine sections about bolt on horsepower. There is a lot more you can do to get power before you have to change to a MAF.
