  • FMS Aluminum Driveshaft question

I attempted to install an aluminum driveshaft and my existing u joint wouldn't fit. The local auto parts store (Carquest) was unable to come up with the right one either.
Can someone please tell me where I can get this elusive u joint and what the part# would be?

    Mike,

I purchased the driveshaft used and it didn't come with the rear u joint. The individual I got it from said that it was removed from his 86 SVO; the same year/make vehicle that I'm attempting to put it on. The rear u joint from my original steel driveshaft doesn't fit, it's too narrow. I'm not sure if the replacement unit that I got from Carquest is #1330 as I'm not currently where the SVO is. That will be the first thing I check but if it's the same u joint that's used on millions of vehicles I'd have to assume they gave me the right one.

      Mike,

I'll pick up the 1330. Thanks for the help!
I don't know how I'd solve my numerous and varied SVO issues without the SVOCA forum!
