  • Oil in intake tubes

I have some oil in the VAM and intake tubes of my 84. I have seen somewhere that this is a PCV issue but can't find it now. Can anyone help me out.
    Thanks,
    Brian.

If you do a search for oil in intake, you'll probably find it...but the short answer is, yes. When there is a faulty PCV, it will cause this problem. I have found that it does it regardless, just not as much. Just take everything out, clean it with an "electronics-safe" cleaner, and put it all back together. This will include the VAM, the hoses, intercooler, and sometimes even the Throttle body.

Oh yeah, replace that PCV with only a Motorcraft unit...the other ones suck....

      oil separator.

I will take a look at changing the PCV. It's only been in for about 6 months with no change in oil accumulation so maybe it's a bad one. Has anyone had the oil separator off? Is it something that can be cleaned to return it to it's original operating level?
