  • No Voltage at Run Circuit at TFI Connector

    Well,

I have change the gas, the fuel filter, made sure the inhjectors were firing with a noid light. Still starts for a second then dies.

So I started Re-Trouble shooting with the section 15-52, and everything checked out until I got to the Part 2, Test 5. In this test you check the voltages at pin #2, #3, and #4 of the TFI connector. Itested it and I have the correct voltage on #2 and #4, and only .8 Volts on #3. Which is the run circuit. This would explain why the dang thing shuts off when I release the ignition switch from start to run.

My problem is that this is one of the wires I repaired because a rodent had chewed through it.

The troubleshootijng says that this is a faulty ignition switch. I think it may be my wotrkmanship on the wiring.

What pin on the Ecu harness can I use to check the continuity? Or does it not go to the ecu?

I have had a long day, and my brain just cant seem to decipher all of the data to figure out how to insure my wiring repair was good.

Please help, I want to confirm that before I tear into the ignition switch.

    Thanks.

    That was it.

I swapped those two wires, and it fired right up.

After sitting for 4 years it smoked, and is smoking.

    BUT SHE RUNS!!!

Now In just have to make her safe to drive.

What grade oil do I need to use for the old girl?

    Thanks everyone for the help.
