  • anyone running a Scirocco radiator?

I'm thinking of doing a FMIC with the radiator and intercooler mounted one on top of the other. A Scirocco style radiator is very short and would allow for this. I just don't know if it would cool well enough. Has anyone tried it?

Any input? I have a guy here locally parting out a VW race car, and it has a Griffin aluminum Scirocco rad. If it will cool at least as well as stock, I'm going to go pick it up. It might also help me take a couple pounds off the nose. Anyone know what a stock rad/fan assembly weighs?

most of the guys running front mounts that are in front of the radiator are using ranger radiators... but if the scirocco is the same dimensions, it will work...

What I'm suggesting is the rad and ic stacked vertically. I'm also going to keep the A/C. The 'rocco radiator is only about 13" high. The aftermarket ones are generally sold as drag race radiators, but I think the Merkur guys use them in their street cars as well.

Shawn I have no input for you. But I was going to do the same thing that you are going to do until I found a NPR for $80. Like you said I usually see them in a drag race application.
