I have an 87 2.3 nonturbo block in my mustang, and was wondering if it would be possible to attach a turbo to this and many of the other SVO parts. I have heard that it may not be strong enough because Ford started making weaker blocks without turbos. I don't know if i believe this, but any help you could give me would be appreciated.

This is probably not the best place for you to ask these questions, and you may even tick a few people off.
A lot of SVO parts are hard to come by, so someone "fixing up" a non-SVO stang with SVO parts may not be the most popular guy around. On top of that, there are aftermarket parts available now, that are better than what came on SVO's
We also try to keep this forum SVO specific. Swapping a SVO engine (another SORE spot) into a non-SVO, is not really a SVO question, and is not really going to help any SVO person keep their SVO running. And that is what we are here for.
I can direct you to a site that is more suited for the questions you are asking...

Your best bet is to follow the link Eric posted, they will be able to give you more detailed questions.
To generically answer your question, your most reliable route to getting a turbo 2.3L into your car is to find a donor Merkur or T-Bird and swap out the engine, trans, harness and computer. The Merkur and T-Bird list of parts are very similar to the SVO, but much more plentiful. While you can slap on the turbo items onto your stock 2.3L, your boost will be quite limited as well as its total HP potential w/o a lot of tuning. Before you start, do your research thoroughly and plan your budget. This is not a $500 budget swap. Good luck.Ted
