  • Remote Starter

I know this is a dumb question...It's been some time since I used a remote starter switch and I'm trying to remember how to hook it up. The switch has two big alligator clips, I think one goes on the positive lead on the starter and the other the Positive battery post? Is this correct? I won't try it until I get some input aso I don't screw something up.

Thank you sir. I just need to crank the engine, don't need it to start, so I'll disconnect the coil wire. I will be changing my power steering fluid and just need to pump out the old as I'm adding the new stuff.

Your story reminds me of my younger days when I worked at a car wash, one of the employees had a lowered Chevy S-10 that happened to have the idle set real high, he ran it through the automatic wash bay and forgot to put it in neutral. As the track pushed it along, at some point the truck pop started itself and it was off to the races. That was quite a scene, five car wash employees chasing a runaway truck. It ended up high centering itself on a curb, no significant damage done.

      im the dumbie here

I thought I was going to read about installing a remote starter in your SVO.. and Mike Flemming was going to tear you a new one explaining to you that you SHOULD not hack up your wiring to install a keyless remote starter in your VO.... LOL......... it took me two reads to understand that your trying to remotely start your engine while standing at the engine compartment so that you can troubleshoot stuff and or fix stuff.... lol and that you are NOT installing an AutoZone special keyless remote starter in a manual transmission SVO so that you can impress the ladies even more.....

So...you're saying that won't get me anywhere with the ladies
I was going to go with the remote starter and the plastic diamond plate floor mats, and the chromed out fuel door cover, .....oh,oh and of course, the 'R' sticker...... all from AutoZone
I guess that 'remote starter switch' has different meanings, but I have nothing but the most honorable intentions.
