Heck, everybody knows that the SVO museum is at Mark Haas' place!

Most of my cars are one's that nobody wanted and were headed for the wrecking yard sooner rather than later.

For those not in the know, the "Fleet" also includes several Mustang GT Turbo's, and three Capri RS Turbo's, several SVO's and an 83 TC.

The only problem with those are that they don't use the same 2.3 Turbo valve cover gasket as the rest of the fleet! Too many parts to stock!

The secret I found is to install it DRY with NO sealant on a clean head with no oil or residue on the gasket/ head /valve cover interfaces.

Place and align the gasket on the head. Then position the valve cover on the gasket. work it down slowly over the gasket and get your valve cover bolts started all the way around. Tighten them down slowly and gradually working your way around the valve cover.

Make sure it doesn't push out at the front. If it does, loosen up on all the bolts and raise the valve cover up so you can push it back in again up front. Then retighten evenly all the bolts until it is down and in position.

Patience with a little paractice and it will come out right every time!
This is pretty much what I did. I dried the surfaces off the best I could. I couldn't find a Ford Gasket nearby and I wanted to get it put back together on Saturday, so I could drive it some this week. I decided I'll chance the Felpro once again. Seems to be holding oil just fine. If it doesn't hold this time, I'll just order one from Forced 4. The dealers near me are $10 more.
