  • New Boost Gauge Installed

Well I saw that the factory gauge was pegged out even when switching the premium switch no difference, so reading here I knew the factory gauge wasn't the best read so I installed an autometer gauge tonight. Hooked it directly to the vacuum tree, and went for a ride. Well Its buried also. jumping over the 20 psi and higher, Could my wastegate be stuck open? I just got a gillis valve and its not on yet. All hoses still seem to look intact. Its a stock 85.5. Clues? I haven't tried to move the wategate yet, Car was hot..

    Thanks

If your wastegate was stuck open you would get no boost!!! It would be worth cheking to see if the rod that acttaches the actuator to the watgate is connected ok. HTH

      More likely it's stuck shut.
Plumb in shop air at 10 PSI and look for air leaks.

Wow, I must have someone looking down on me, First I ran the crap out of the car with TONS of boost and it didn't blow up, Found out it was pushing to much, checked the wastegate with air pressure and my compressor doesn't go down that far, Used 20 psi and pushed the gate open and closed, well Nothing broke thank God, I put on all new vac hoses, gillis boost controller, and now I'm getting a good 15 psi on the gauge, Man I'm seriously glad i didn't blow something, I'm still new to turbos, but it runs really nice not 25 psi nice, lol but good in the safe zone nice.. Thanks guys
