  • Main bolt size

Finally getting around to putting everything back together. (been dealing with being sick, lots of work, and getting married) Figured that a retorque of the main bolts and con rod bolts would be in order. Took my trusty marked adjustable wrench and found the bolt heads are 21mm. Took me 4 hardware stores to find a 21mm socket, all the others were out of stock. Went home, and it doesnt fit. I think it might be an impact driver socket, or am i just going with the wrong size? Sears hasnt had 21mm in stock for at least 3 months now.

a 22mm would make sense. Guess my handy adjustable wrench isnt so accurate.

I learned my lesson trying to use a standard socket on a metric head. I will not make that mistake twice.

You might wanna take along the long bolt/stud, the one where the oil pickup tube mounts to the stud, to make sure the socket you get will clear and still provide full engagement to the hex head.
Kind of hard to take the bolt with me when i dont have a socket that fits it to take it out Ill pick up a 22mm today and see how it goes. Ill get a measurement on the bolt before i go though.

      Congrats on the wedding.
Thanks. The reception is the 22nd of july if any of the locals want to make a trip up.
