I don't have the old ones, I got the car with the stock 84 computer and brown tops already swapped in.

Ok I'll do that. How do you guys run the fuel pressure gauges so you can see them while driving? On my buick i can just stick it up out the back of the hood and under a wiper, but on the svo it looks like it wont fit because the hood is flush with the little grille thing where the wipers are...

No story yet, just got back from class, so i'm going to check the injectors and pull each plug to see if it's localized to any specific cylinder.

Then when one of my housemates gets home with my fuel pressure gauge we'll try and get fuel pressure under boost and try and figure out why the fuel pressure is high and bleeds off after 10 seconds or so when the key is turned off. I think I should probably just spend a couple hundred and get the fuel system all upgraded and know that it's good.

Also it's getting harder and harder to shift... I changed the fluid and found they had heavy weight gear oil in it a while back and put in some ATF. The pedal effort is rather high, and it makes a knocking noise in neutral with the clutch engaged. The clutch pedal also seems to be getting higher. I've tried adjusting the clutch quadrant thing some, and it helped, but didnt fix it all the way. The clutch cables look good, also. Probably time for a new clutch, but it doesnt slip yet.

When my head gasket popped between #3 and #4 cylinders, the car would run but it sounded like detonation like crazy when in 2nd and 3rd gears. It was idling ok during this period as well. You might want to do a compression test to rule this possibility out.

As far as the clutch, my guess is that the bearing retainer is worn out and the throwout bearing is binding.

                  Clutch Cable is good

Check to make sure the 2" dogbone isnt about to snap on you. I second the possibilty of the throw out bearing going as well.

If the fuel pressure is high and then bleeds off after a few seconds then it is most likely a bad fuel pressure regulator. Pull the little vacuum line off and see if it is sucking fuel through the intake.

I'm guessing I have to pull the tranny to check all that, so i'll probably do that this weekend. I have a backup car in case I need a clutch, so i'll be ok. The little dogbone cable is the one that hooks to the pivot arm that goes into the transmission right? It looked good a couple days ago when I was under the car.

I'll do a compression check while i'm out here too if I can find my gauge. What do I need to unplug to keep the injectors from firing and such while i'm cranking?

Doesnt seem to be any fuel coming out of the vacuum line on the FPR when I checked the fuel pressure. And one other thing, there's a little bit of weird lime green sludge stuff in my radiator cap when I pull it. No smoking or oil in there or coolant in the oil for all I can tell.

I do believe so. Yes, Eric Smith. Bought it off this board. Do you know the car?

Are there guages mounted on the A-pillar? I do remember that color with those sn95 wheels.

                                Compression test:
cold/slightly warm (car was ran a couple hours ago.

                                1: 132 psi
                                2: 135 psi
                                3: 137 psi
                                4: 135 psi

That's with 3-4 engine cycles as far as I can tell from the engine with all spark plugs out. Can't feel it as good as with a V engine. Should I crank until it gets to it's maximum point on the gauge? I tried one cylinder for 8-10 compression cycles and got 160 psi
