I did a search & could not find much in this.. After I get my block back from the engine shop I was thinking about powder coating the block.. I can get a pretty good price on having it done.. Is there any reason that I would not want to do this?? I was thinking about doing the block & oil pan in gray..
I'm not sure you could powder coat it without causing paint to go where it shouldn't. I would also want to check with the powder coater on recomended heat applications.
As long as the coater uses the high temp tape and plugs and is mindfull of what they are doing, then you should be fine. Powder bakes at 350-400. A lot of places do engines. Mine is not powder coated, but I still run a 5.0 heavy duty 3-core radiater. If you have any questions call. Tony shop 570-879-0118 home 570-853-4697
