What is your fuel pressure doing when you turn the key on to prime the pump? Try switching the key on and off several times before you try to start it.

The other thing to check is the codes o see if you are getting an ECT out of range code. You can check the resistance of the ECT. At 50* it should be ~58.75 ohms, at 68* it should be ~37.3 ohms.

      Winter Woe's

You will also have to provide what is meant by cold! People in AZ aren't going to be familuar with life in WY!

      1) Is the car out side or in a garage (is it heated at all)

      2) IF NO to any of the above. What weight oil is run in the summer-did you change to a winter oil???

      3) Battery condition even a weak battery in the summer ain't going to cut it in the winter (anyones winter)

This could be a combo of my questions/points and or other normal winter issues (water in fuel/now freezing mositure in cap from temperature differance)

P.S. Or it could just be where the mice choose to live in the winter!

I had a bmap sensor that wasn't putting out the right voltage. That made it hard to start. You might want to change that 20? year old sensor.

Try pulling codes. They should point you (and us) in the right direction to solve your problem. Don't overlook the ECT sensor!

"Mike what's the frequency?" That's what the thug asked Mike Wallace as he mugged him in NYC.

Get a code reader for the EEC-IV and plug it in the connector between battery and the DS shock tower.

A bad battery ground could be a problem. Remove and clean the terminals. When you say it doesn't start out in the cold, does it turn over like it does when in the garage?

well it turns over like it wants to...if that makes sense at all. after trying to start it for 2-5 minutes itll start up. in the garage it starts right up. so if your asking if it cranks yes but doesnt want to turn over when its cold

On a cold start the O2 sensor comes in play along with idle bypass solinoid. Start on the easiest and least $. If you don't know how old the o2 sensor is change it 1st.

What oil are you running? At 20 below you might want to consider investing in an engine block heater.

The idle bypass solinoid is mounted to the throttle body. People call it different names, but it is a idle by-pass solinoid. Take it off and clean out the carbon. Put some rubbing alcohol in the fuel tank to dissipate any water in your tank. Any amount of water will freeze up in your lines
