  • EEC-IV Identification

In my SVO, I pulled the EEC-IV so I can trace out some of the wiring. Found out that the processor is a remanufactured unit, that is missing all the part numbers off of it. It's supposed to be a PE unit, but alas, who really knows.

I've taken it apart and found the following:

    EEC-IV EFI TC5
    E6ZF-14A608-BA PWB-391

    It's got a 7.5Mhz crystal, so I don't think it's a LA3. It also has the Toshiba 6127 version of the 8061.

    Any ideas?

What year is your SVO? Hopefully the reman'd unit was a direct replacement for your original. Your numbers vary a bit from my PE unit, but since it is a reman, that may be normal. Here is the info from my PE unit:

    EEC-IV
    EFI-TC5
    E5ZF-12A650-E3A

One option may be to contact your local Ford dealer and see if they can cross reference the p/n to a code. Is there any mention of the calibration code on the unit?

Ah, the cover does have some numbers on it:

      Number 8-4483
      Calibration Code 0696

It's missing the Production Broadcast Code and O.E. No, that are supposed to be filled in by the installer.

My SVO is supposedly an 85.5, but I'm not so sure that it is. It seems to have 85 wiring, with the large pin connectors for the sensor harness, but it does have the flush mounted headlights, granted, they look almost new. It does have the 85.5/86 intake, but the turbo appears to be a T3/T4. It also has a roller cam that I was told was a A237, but haven't turned the motor yet to measure the valve events.

        Chambers,
If your not sure, may be I could run over to your place this weekend in my 85.5 and you can compare the "little things"

Another way is to look at the build date and also get a History 999 report from Ford. It should state that your car came with the "85 1/2 SVO Package". My report from Ford did.
