  • exhaust elbow question

It seems I've got to build an exhaust flange and elbo for my new T-3/T-4 turbo 'cause it's 6 bolt and can't find a vender. I'm wondering what would be the best way to make the transition to 3 inch. Just slap a 3" pipe on the 2.5"
outlet or use a piece of tapered pipe to make the transition to 3" smoother.
    Any ideas?

I have made a few of them. Take a 3" stainless elbow, cut the old elbow off the turbo and weld the new elbow on. Sounds simple huh.
The elbow is offset some and needs to be cut off some to match the old location. The elbow has to be bent to match up with the shape of the housing.
Use a 308 stainless rod or use a 7018 mild steel rod. Both will match the cast metal that the housing is made from.
Do the search and you might fine one I made.
This is a very good upgrade to the exhaust.
Time to clean up the engine bay!

What radius did you use? Was that a standard 304 mandrel bend or a schedule 10? How much firewall clearance did you end up with?
            Thx.
