Im just having an issuse with my boost in premium mode. In regular mode it will boost to 8psi and hold (8psi is pretty slow i might add
). But when Im in premium mode, the car seems like it doesnt boost up fully till about 5000 RPM. I have a manual boost controler on the car and it seems to run better with higher boost than factory boost. Im not quite sure what the problem could be... maybe the Factory boost controler or the wastegate. I just need to know what a bad wastegate will act like to I can ge this fixed and enjoy my new SVO!! thanks

Well when I had a bad wastegate actuator ( the vacuum piece) it was just letting the boost go by it as in not boosting more than 5 psi no matter how hard I drove it. Then when I took the turbo off I noticed that the area that seats the actual wastegate arm into the turbo was cracked through and was letting boost go by there as well so I actually had two problems.
First Sx was no boost at all it would raise the gauge just a little, replaced turbo thinking the actuator was good, saw 5 psi no more replaced actuator.84 1C FrankenSVO

Sounds like you found one of the 'obvious' secrets to a good running SVO...gap the plugs to .030" and DON'T use platinum plugs(!!). The el-cheapo copper Motorcraft or Autolite's work just fine, as was proven on the dyno at the last couple of Reunions. So far I have given out two sets of them and both SVO's responded with nice gains in HP and elimination of detonation. Good luck.Ted

I just put in NGK V-Power plugs in and it runs basicly the same. The old plugs were autolite platinums
. they were very fouled with white all over the tip. I dont understand whats going on with the car. It will pull to 10 psi then feel like it starts to miss and not pull hard. I hope i can figure this out soon...
