  • Voltage Regulator Replacement??

Ok, well the title may be a liitle misleading because if I couldn't replace a voltage regulator I'd ask someone to shoot me!!!!

Anyways, got a 130 amp 3G on my 84 and it's all good, big gauge wire, 200amp fuse, runs well, all sweet. Well, when i did the conversion i used the old "use some jumper wires on the voltage regulator plug" method. Now it's held up fine for the last six months but I'm worried about the long term and it does add another ugly part to the rats nest of wiring in that area.

I'm sure i saw somewhere that PA Performance, or simialr, sold a box that looked exactly like the the stock voltage regulatorbut had the wiring required for the conversion. I've searched their site and can't find any info!!!!!

I'm wondering if someone has a link to/ the part number of if I'm just better of buying a cheap volt reg, gutting it and making the connection myself inside the box. bear in mind I'm pretty good with wiring.

    Any advice/info appreciated.

I did the "single wire" conversion. No voltage regulator needed. I know some people like the idiot light that says AMPS but I even routed the power so that it's out of the circuit entirely. If it ever burned out you'd never know it and the car would slowly die from lack of power.

Hi Mike, sorry for the lack of reply. I've been up on Mt Hood shooting this movie for the last 4 days with no computer. MUST BUY LAPTOP!!!!!!

Anyways, I'll take that "black box" off your hands if you don't want it. Lemme know how much and how much I owe you for that cam and I'll send it all at one time.
