Does anybody manufacture or sell oem plug wires for a 1984 SVO in the original size and orange color? I purchased the gray replacements from Motorcraft, but would love to have the original orange models.

My car had the original ones still installed when I bought the car, but hated to keep 23 year old wires. Any help would be appreciated.

I bought my 84 SVO new off the showroom floor in 84. The original wires, (which I still have in a box) are gray, not orange.

I suggest you use your new Motorcraft replacements. They are the closest to original in form and function available.

Or you could get a set of Magnecor wires. As long as you don't route them around the header or exhaust system parts, they'll live forever. Solid wire cores, solid silicone outers.

Funny you should mention those. They are what I used to replace the stock originals in my 84. No, they don't look anywhere close to stock, but they are bulletproof!

Fleming just likes them cause they're RED!!!

When I bought my SVO last year it had orange Autolite wires in it. They looked old maybe it was the same ones on yours??? I agree I've never seen these orange wires around. Too bad when I began pulling them they just separated from the boot and fell apart(ended up in the garbage). I too went with Motorcraft replacements which are gray.

Autolite wires are NOT original equipment for SVOs. They are one of many brands sold as aftermarket replacements.

And therein lies the rub. Use Motorcraft wires if you want to keep replacing them every 6 to 12 months. Seems the fiber/carbon/glass cores fracture and fall apart from any vibration and the ends fracture from every plug change.
