Altenator/Charging issues.

Alternator was bad. Battery was bad.

Have replaced both and still not charguing.

Have continuity from EVR plug from Field Post to connector. Have continuity from stator post to connector.

I do not have continuity from the Battery post on the alternator to the either wires on the battery side of the solenoid.

With everything plugged in I get an amp light with Key on, not running. When I start the car there is no amp light, but it is not charging.

I think I have a burnt fuse link between the battery post on the alternator to the solenoid. My problem is that I cannot find it. The wiring in my car has been repaired a bazillion times. Can I run an 8 ga wire with a 100 amp fuse straight from the Bat post on the alternator to the battery side of the starter relay???

Yep.

I have followed the troubleshooting guide that I have in the Ford Shop Manual.

Everything checks, but the continuity from the BAT post on the alternator to the Battery side of the starter relay.

Yes, you can. In fact, Pat_in_LA has made up kits just for this purpose.

If you haven't already, you need to start stripping back tape and wire looms to see where you have your wiring problem. Sounds like a fire waiting to happen, and that is something you don't want to happen I'm sure.

Also,
Take the alternator to a parts place and have them check it out. I know, it's new, but that doesn't mean it's working properly. Not only that, it's free to have them check it.

Get a 3 G alt and ditch the old stuff. its SOOO worth it.

I would ditch it, but having a hard time justifying the $$$.

I ran a 2 Gauge wire from the batt post to the battery side of the starter relay and voila I have 14.6 Volts at the battery with the car running.

Where is a good place to order a 150 Amp inline fuse and holder online?
