    I'm interested in using the Microsquirt, with 65 lb/hr or so high impedence injectors.

      I'm putting a mega squirt in my SVO race car (if I ever get it to the point I can actually start the car). It will probably be a few months before I'm at that point though.
      Hoping to get on the track soon

        i have learned so much from the Fel-pro (fast efi) FI on my car and have now completly rewired it. i am going to attempt the megasquirt on my turbo'd clevland project next.

            no pics yet. still figuring out the goals of the project. not sure but i do know a few (the only reason i do goals/objectives/uses of the car before i start a project is so i dont spend useless amounts of money, when im just going to change me mind.

            goals;

            1.make 10's @ at least 130 mph.
            2. do it on stock suspension for the car
            3. see how much i can keep the motor stock with our running into problems.
            4. decide what turbo/turbos to use....

            but its all down the road

              i have been reading some of the info, but have not talked with any one who has been running it yet... i just want to be able to tune my computer with the wide band i already have. MS sounds and looks like a great tool.

                first disclaimer: its never as easy as it looks. MS is a major undertaking and you might want to hop on the forums and see if there is a local who has set up and tuned a megasquirt and can offer help, just in case you get to 'stuck'.

                there's a few people over at turboford and the megasquirt forums with running 2.3T + MS, as well as MSnS. you can get a mS to ECC adapater board from http://www.megaefi.com/. might want to give them a ring and hear it from the horses mouth about what you need to get it running.

                  is there somthing easier to use for "self tuning"?
                  MS is pretty though.. lol

                    the mega squirt and spark firmware has all sorts of cool little hacks in it, one being the link above, mappable AFR. Also, if you get in touch with someone with a 2.3t bin, it should alleviate the headaches with initial tune.

                          One of the guys on turbo ford is selling a plug in megasquirt unit
                          it plugs into the factory computer location
                          and it already has a base tune in it

                              I bought one of these. Installed it yesterday. Car didn't fire the first time. Everything seems to be set correctly and it was a VERY easy install. There are only two things to hook up; an air intake temperature sensor and a vacuum line for the MAP sensor. Then you have to uninstall the VAM and put it in the trunk. Oh yeah, you also have to install the MS unit. Then you have to calibrate the TPS to the ECU (before firing the motor) and the timing with a timing light after starting the car. I didn't get as far as the timing.

                              We're just trying to figure out if I forgot to plug something in (I may have forget to plug the vacuum line into the MAP sensor since I rerouted the vacuum line more than a few times) or if there was something that got dumped since the base tune. Nathan installs these in his car and drives it for a few hours prior to shipping so that he *KNOWS* it works. Also I did a lot of test routing of the vacuum line and the wiring for the sensor and may have unplugged something that I failed to plug back in. I found that I unplugged the coil wire accidentally so maybe I accidentally unplugged something else. The car was running when parked but not well. I had just swapped to a ported intake and 52lb injectors and the LA3 (obviously) couldn't handle them. And the chip I burned was screwed up because I used the wrong addressing in Flash and Burn (SVOJohn over on TF squared me away last night). The chip is fixed now so I can use it if I have to.

                              Anyway, it's probably an easy fix but I can't get access to my car until Wednesday afternoon to check the things he told me to check. If it still won't start I'll throw the LA3 and VAM back in to see if it will start. If it will I'm driving it home to tinker with it in the parking lot. After thinking about it overnight I think it's a timing issue. If I understand correctly, the timing indicator on Megatune is supposed to indicate the total timing the dizzy is set at plus what the ECU is advancing. Megatune was only showing 12.5* advance while trying to start it up. Or I could be wrong. I'll find out next week.

                              Edit;
                              I'm the first one to buy one of these kits so I'm also the crash test dummy for the installation kit. There were bound to be issues.
