This is a great product with a TON of value added features due to the MSnS Extra firmware and additional features added by Bama Fuel.
If you decide to get this system...
But be sure to do your homework; in other words RTFM. The closer to stock you are the better it will run out of the box. You *will* need to do some tuning once it is hooked up. The further from stock, the more tuning needed. The base tune supplied will allow you to start right up, drive it around and get to work tuning but the ultimate tune will be different for each car. Also make sure your wiring is good. I have a voltage drop problem to the STRT line on the TFI. This wasn't a problem with the EEC but did cause a no start issue with the MS. Not the fault of the MS, just 24 year old wiring. I've got a wiring work-around now so all is well.
All that said I love this product. The tuning potential is outstanding. I can see 400hp around the corner without all the worry of how I am going to meter it. Just clamping my filter to the front of my turbo and dumping the VAM was a liberating feeling. I can't imagine going back to VAM or MAF now.
I recommend that an investment of $20 in MegaLogViewer to get your VE tables right. It saves hours of driving around with a partner adjusting the VE cell values up or down. Just log your data and let the software adjust the values for you.
The bottom line; I recommend it for anyone who wants to get away from your 20+ year old EEC technology and have the capability to monitor and tune easily. I really like the ability to see the Intake Air Temperature in real time not to mention load, PW or any number of other things. Oh and I like finally being able to see just exactly how hot my coolant is. My gauge is never very helpful.
