  • Wires, where do you hide them?

For all you people who are anal about your engine bays , where do you hide, or place your wires so that all you really notice is the engine itself and not the cluster f@ck of wires everywhere?

Depends on how in depth you want to go. On my Capri (2.3t) project the body/light harness will be hidden inside the fender. The engine harness will come up from the firewall behind the engine. The wiring on the passenger fender apron will be sitting inside the passenger fender also. There will be wires visible, but they will be very few and you'll have to look to see them.

You could cut them all out and install a carbed 5.0.

The pass side will be the easiest. There is a rubber grommet that you can pass wire through into the fender area. You can either route them like the windshield washer hose or through the empty support. Driver side pretty much the same but without the grommet.

Either side is pretty easy with the fender off and you can hide almost all of the wires and still keep them out of the elements (inner fender).

I did what others have already suggested. Just make sure you label everything before you cut! Also, you should solder and heat shrink every connection; don't use crimp connectors. It will be WAY too difficult and frustrating to trace a problem if something doesn't work the way it should once you're finished.
