  • intercooler flow rates / pressure drop

hey guys, anyone know a good place to find intercooler pressure loss / flow rate data? im very saddened that there is no central place that contains results for such crucial data. I found a few sites that say so and so IC good for X HP... with no mention of ambient temp, pressure loss, heat exchange efficiency, etc etc etc.

    TIA!

I did one on the supercoupe IC. Temp drop was from 214 down to 125 on a 85 deg day in 3 and 4 gear. At 22 psi. The npr was not as good. That is all I can remember. The new IC I have kicks butt on everything. No pressure drop information. YOur going to spend some good money on a good IC. Better get one off ebay and just think it is good.

I had it sitting in the front where the air comes in. Fit prefect. Damn ford and the odd flange that goes on the ic. Made 2 little brakets and stuck it in there.

Got Mike's little bitty ic on there also.

Don Hausee wrote a piece of software several years ago called IC Designer. His software was based on known fluid dynamics theory and his software seems to be in line with other Intercooler tests I have browsed on the web. Using Don's software, I did a comparison of a few of the well known intercoolers back in 2001, the results are in this link:
