  • Extended Stud Starter Solenoid?

I've been doing some rewiring under the hood. I just added the 4AWG wire from my 3G Alt to the solenoid and I have a bunch of other junk that gets +12VDC from the hot post on the solenoid. I ran out of stud! I usually run a lock washer on there but there's not enough stud left for it.

Does anyone know of an application that uses an extended or longer stud on the solenoid? Maybe a truck or commercial vehicle? If not, I guess I need to run some type of distro block. Any recommendations on one of those?

    Thanks! Mikey

Cavaliers came with a nice distribution block. I'm not sure what years.

I purchased one from the following site. It has 7/8" long studs that are longer than the stock SVO starter solenoid switch:

        Thanks Guys.

For now I'll try the longer post switch. If needed, I do like those distro blocks. I'll run an 8 awg wire over to one of those, but as space is tight, we'll try the switch 1st.

The switch that Steve posted looks like the better bet. I think it has the circuit protection in it as well. I'll have to order one up and check it out.
