  • blue smoke under hood

I have noticed some smoke under the hood of my car that coming up around the #4 plug. It seems like it goes away after I run it for awhile and then comes back after it sits for a few days. It is dry in the area that I see the smoke so I'm assuming that it is coming from somewhere under the exhaust manifold. My guess is that it is a head gasket, but there maybe other causes that I'm not aware of because I have no idea what is under there on an SVO.

Any idea where the smoke is coming from?

blue smoke is oil, white smoke is antifreeze.. I'd check your valve cover gasket..maybe there's a small leak. could also be your oil line as well.

Sounds about right, thanks for the help.

Guess I will check it out, see if I can seal it better, then wait and see. Not ready to do the rebuild the top end yet as I really don't know how bad the bottom end it.
