'84 Exhaust - fuel pump interference...

Has anyone switched an '84 to a dual exhaust like the 85.5 and 86's? I am wondering about interference with the fuel pump...
I have searched most of the threads and no one seems to talk about this...

Best is to change to a single in-tank fuel pump (search lots of threads on this)
then exhaust has no problems

Can you still use the bracket to hold the filter or do you need to get rid of all of it? My 84 now has the intank pump.

The 85.5 and 86 intank only fuel system has the filter located in front of the diff up in the recessed area-passenger side.

The filter can stay there, just keep the exhaust more centerline to the car near that area.

On my 85 I eliminated the filter from that location and placed it in the same location as the 85.5-86 SVO and all 87-93 mustangs
I just needed to splice the nylon fuel lines to make it look right
