Stinger? Magnaflow
I installed a stinger system with the magnaflow 3"in/out muffler last year without a cat, the rumble is really nice not too loud. I was not particularly impressed with the way the downpipe sat installed (too low) and the overaxle pieces need some cutting to make it look OK.
This year I got a SS Downpipe from Merkur Depot (club vendor) and it fits much better, I went with the Borla ProXS 3" in/out muffler, the path of the chamber looks just like the magnaflow but it is as quiet as stock surprisingly. This system also includes a high flow cat and is completely 304SS, maybe the material produces different acoustics than aluminized steel??
Anyway my opinion Merkur Depot downpipe and Magnaflow Muffler, use the search and you will find lots of related posts here and Members get a discount on the downpipe! Good Luck!

I have the stinger 3" into 2.5" on my 84. I had flowmasters on my car and really liked the sound of them. I changed to magnaflows because of all that I had read about the chambers in flowmasters being bad. I did not notice and increase at all in performance, this was verified at the track, but i did notice that my exhaust sounds not as deep . I am to put my flowmasters back on, they just sound better

I just went with a 3" downpipe, and a Dynomax Ultraflow with a y-pipe splitting to 2.5" duals out back. It has a nice throaty sound and you can hear the turbo whistle once it comes back down to idle. I also really like the sound of Flowmasters on these cars, but that whole back pressure thing is the reason I didn't go with Flowmasters on mine.My cars:
1965 Mustang GT
1984 Mustang SVO

NEVER use Flowmasters with a turbo. They are about the poorest choice you could make on a turbo car. Dynomax Ultraflow , Hooker Maxflow, Borla, and Magnaflow are the go-to mainstream mufflers for turbo applications.
An excerpt from turbomustangs.com's FAQ:
What exhaust should I buy?
Turbos HATE backpressure. You want the highest flowing exhaust system you can fit. The main item here is mufflers. You do not want chambered style mufflers like flowmasters. You want a "straight through" type muffler like the dynomax super turbo, ultraflo or any other straight through design muffler. Chambered mufflers will cost you at least 20hp minimum. If you are running a single exhaust 3" is the minimum, for dual exhaust 2.5" will be fine.
The overall exhaust system is up to you, like I said the larger the better. If you can fit dual 3" then do it. The turbomustangs.com project car is running a 3" downpipe which U-s out to a standard 2.5" catback and this basic setup has been good for 700hp.
I about choked when I saw Stinger Performance offering Flowmasters on his website for turbo applications.
Magnaflow not only works better, they sound better, and last longer.
