Opinions wanted

I am taking my 84 to a local exhaust shop. Right now the 3in exhaust hangs to low and they are going to raise it. While it is there I was going to change the muffler, currently it has a Bassani, that sound like the coffee can mufflers on the honda's. I had read that someone was going to get a muffler like in the pic with 3in inlet and (2) 2.25 outlets, ran side by side to look like the original 84 exhaust tip.
My question, Would this flow equal to a 3in in/out? I am going with a Magnaflow muffler, and I know in the end its my preference, but any suggestions?

Yeah, I meant to just give it the appearance from the back to look like the orginal tips.
With my 3in exhaust, A guy I work with asked me what semi I stole my exhaust from.

It will be hard (if not impossible) to get two over the axle pipes on one side.

I don't think it matters which muffler you use, it will probably still sound like a John Deere. Why not just go 3" all the way?

I agree it would be VERY difficult to get the two pipes to pass up and over the rear axle, and around everything else, and still get them to meet up and look good / even at the rear bumper. Maybe if you could bend the 2 pipes exactly the same, then weld them together every foot or so, then cut off the excess together at the rear bumper at the same time after it is all hung and installed. Maybe it would work out.

I just got my car back, and all I can say is wow. What a difference it made. I went with a 3in in and out with a Magnaflow muffler. It is a tiny bit louder at Idle(before it was hard to tell the car was running) but in the higher RPM and on the highway is alot more quiet. I can hear my turbo spool now. Plus I dont have to worry about speedbumps.

I had some from under the car also, but they were to dark. I will have to take more. Here is a before and after
