    I've got that "Y" brace. Where does it need to go to? BTW, my 84 didn't have it on there either and for the longest time, I thought they only came on the later cars as a fix for the cracking problem.

        40Bob: A A A A A++++++++ Talked to Bob. He is recovering well from his surgery. He is a real stand-up guy. I am shipping my header back to him and he is going to take care of repairing it. Bob is just the kind of people we need helping out the SVO community. Thanks Bob.

            Yeah you have to run that brace I believe it makes a big diff in supporting the turbo, as well, you should have a flex joint in the downpipe... Or at the very least where the downpipe slip fits into the rest of the exhaust don't use a clamp so it can twist with engine TQ which eliminates stress of the manifold to support everything.

            I have an ATR header cracks repaired, and just slip fitted my Stinger exhaust onto the downpipe so it can twist, I street drive my car and the ATR has been good so far for two full seasons.

              I would love to run the Y-brace. Anyone have one they would like to part with? Also I am running a 3" downpipe with a flex section in it.

                      Update: Bob called. Header is getting taken care of.
                      Most Vendor's including Bob are great to deal with. If you have issues with them, there is a thing called PM'S. Go that route first, you don't need to post issues like this which are correctable. By the way, even FORD'S manifolds can crack too!
                      All parts of some sort will wear out in time due to usage, some sooner than others it all depends on the application. Big Turbo, lots of boost, leaning out the engine will put stress on these parts.etc.
                      Thats why most companies don't warrenty racing parts.
