Very true. I have seen some nice setups that people have posted up buying stuff from radio shack. But some others that are not so nice.

Does the system you're installing have a data log output? You will need a way to match it up with load, RPM, throttle, etc. Just staring at a display without also being able to record engine RPM, load, time, etc. and review the data off-line is not a very useful tool for tuning.

IMHO.

Without datalogging, I think it's still useful for seeing AFR at idle, AFR at cruise and decel, and you can get a peak number at full boost if your eyes are quick enough. The extra granularity you would see in a datalog is very nice, but I wouldn't call it a requirement for everyone.
