  • Window Dew Wipe Molding

Is the "dew wipe" door molding on the bottom outside of the door window a SVO specific part? Are they still available from Ford?

Can the molding from a 87-92 be used? I'm certain I'm not the only with dry-rotted rubber.

Ford still sells them under the part# E6ZZ-6120545ap and 0544ap, they are semi flat black though price should be around $60.00 per side

Late Model Restoration also has them...
You can carefully remove the felt part & paint them to match the SVO gray (if yours isn't an 84)
If it ain't broke... Give me some time!

                dsrk98,

Have you had a bad experience with the repros? If so can you tell us who made them? I was going to purchase the ones LMRS sells but if you or anyone else has had fitment problems I would just as soon pony up the extra cash for factory replacements.

                Thanks,
                Paul

                  yes

I got some from 50resto and the metal molding was thinner and did not fit well. Spend the extra $ and get the real Ford.

I got the ones from LMRS and they fit fine... Seem identical to the originals. No complaints here.
The front part by the mirror is very flimsy, but it was that way on the originals too. They fit very snug. Be careful when installing them. Work them down a small amount back to front in little steps. Don't try to shove them down in one step. You'll scratch your car, bend the piece, or both.

If the original metal trim is still nice, buy the repro part, carefully seperate the dew wipe from the both pieces and reinstall new dew wipe on the original trim piece.
I have installed the repros on my car with no problems and switched out just the dew wipes on another.

                        Nice SVO.

What have you done to it?

How's the black one coming along?
