  • Dark Charcoal Metallic paint

well it looks like I will need some Dark Charcoal Metallic paint for the SVO I am going to restore .

I would like to buy some original paint to redo the engine bay first and then I will do all of the prep work myself and after it gets running I will drive it to a friends shop (in Arkansas ) and have him help me shoot the entire car .I was just wondering how much paint will I need and where is the best place to purchase it ?

I want the paint to be as close to original as possible so any suggestions would be more than appreciated....

Take the gas lid to any good paint shop they can flash the lid and match the paint .

Just give the paint shop the year of the car and paint code on the door jam sticker. I told the guy 1985 and 1B and it pulled right up on his computer.

If you are going to keep it and not go cheap on the paint. Start out with 2 quarts of epoxy primer. I'd estimate 3 quarts of base coat doing all the jams and engine bay. Get a gallon of good clear so you have plenty of material to color sand.

        If it's an '84 it could be a 9W
