  • Front Speakers: MB Quart

I used the feedback in this section to decide upon front speakers my car and all I can say is wow, absolutely terrific. I purchase the MB Quart Discus DKE 108 coaxial and the fit was good (one new hole, one new crimp on connector for each speaker and the sound is awesome. I know the Discus is the lower end MB Quart speaker, can't imagine the sound getting any better. Also, they were $29.99, which is unbelieveable off Amazon.com. Thought I say thanks and give feedback.

I think I've got a set of Kenwoods sitting around somewhere in the shed.

As a word of caution, MB quarts got bought out by an asian company and the quality has taken a dive. The stores around here won't carry them because of it. Sounds like you got a set of the last german made speakers.

        MB Quart

yes, made in Germany on the speakers and the box. The research I did stated they stopped making this model in 2005. Still available on Amazon though, lucky me!

Good buy there. Just a helpful tip for any other electrical upgrades to the stereo. You can avoid splicing/cutting the harness by purchasing the mating plugs for the car harness. You should be able to source them through Crutchfield or most car audio shops.

              Better Yet

I made a trip to the local salvage yard and found the proper front speaker connectors in the interior of a Ranger pickup, they gave 'em to me for nuthin.
