This one just worked for me. I don't know why the other one didn't.

If this doesn't work, go to the SEARCH mode and type in DASHPAD (one word). There are several threads discussing the good and bad options out there.

May want to try Late Model Restorations dash cover. It's really a cap that installs over your existing dash. (search for 'dash cover' on their site)

Only $70 & super easy to install. The only catch is that it comes in black, so you have to paint it. LMR sells the paint, or if there is an OReily's near you, they can get it.

I recently did this cuz my original dash was cracked big time. Came out great.

OR .. you could contact one of the vendors who actually SPONSOR this club and ask them if they have a good used, or new OEM pad .. etc.

              Just sayin.

Those caps are made by coverlay and offered through JC Whitney as well but other vendors here could help you as well. As far as their interior dye...it isn't even close and hasn't been for years yet they still sell it...I tested it years ago when I was looking for the correct match that I currently offer but you are welcome to buy it and find out the hard way that your interior now has too much red in it and is glossy .

To paint the dash, I used spray paint SEM 15303 from O'Reily's (searches on here suggested it).

On my interior, the match was perfect. No one can tell that I painted the dash (along with an A-Pillar). Even where an original dyed colored piece meets a newly painted piece, the match is spot on. Just sharing my results - of course, your results may vary...

I just found one on CJponyparts.com looks pretty nice. Only comes in black. I might get one. I'll let everyone know how it fit's.

and it's the same one every aftermarket vendor sells ... and I can tell you how it's gonna fit before you get it.

The side to side fit and speaker holes have never been the issue....there is no mention of weight in that review, The dashes direct pads in the past have weighed in a 15lbs and if you held them in the center the two sides would fold down and try to touch each other...not rigid like the original. Other issues I noticed and I still see evidence of (although it is tough to see in pics) is some issues with crispness and shaping. As far as the overall look it appears better than I have seen in the past but I don't trust them quickly since their prior response was "We know it has problems but as long as people buy it we will still make it"...they were very reluctant in the past to make changes. Hopefully they did make changes and it is a better product...maybe I will order one in as I did before and do my own evaluation on it.....It certainly would be nice if they did right by the hobby and improved it.

Hey Paul did you ever get a chance to see if the new improved reproduction dash pads are any good? I see vendors are offering the crappy urethane ones that don't fit and also a vinyl covered pad that is supposed to be made with the original Ford tooling. Also, if the new improved pads are decent do you sell them? Thanks!
