We will have the headlights ready in approximately 4 weeks give or take....the rubber trim around the headlights is also being worked on. On the table now are the inner marker lights which are scheduled to be ready in about a week.

You mean we won't have to pay one meeelion dollars for headlights? Sorry, just wanted an excuse to use the doctor evil smiley. Will the headlight design/materials be exactly the same as stock? i.e. will they turn yellow and fog up after several years? My originals have had water in them since the day I brought the car home

That is correct....Dr. Evil will no longer make ransom demands to you....as long as enough sell to warrant keeping them around

The lights are being made from the original tooling(inners and headlights). The only difference from the mid 80's is that the lenses will be glued on instead of "heat glued" which should eliminate the lens falling off problem and they are going to be coated with a UV protectant to help guard against fading. This protectant is the same process being used today on many lights.

I don't have firm pricing on the headlights yet but will post them as the information comes in.

The inner markers are $95 each and there is a discounted price for SVOCA members(listed in the members only section).

Also, in regards to the fading... Unless you guys got ahold of some NOS plastic pellets, I'm sure the molder will be using much better materials than they had availible in the 80's... Plastics have come a long way... You know those connector tabs that always break? or those mounting bosses on your wing that are missing? Or the brittleness of any connector anywhere near the turbo? Well those are things of the past...
I'm sure these lights will look better, be clearer & shine brighter than originals, and will stay that way for a long time.
BTW, are the inside reflector areas being painted silver or plated? Maybe you could offer both... Painted for the concours guys (like you'd see it anyway) and chorme plated like the new cars for brighter lights, for a slightly higher price.
If it ain't broke... Give me some time!

So will the headlights be made for a while or is it going to be a limited run like the markers? Thanks.

The plastics are much better now and no, we did not find any NOS pellets... . These like the markers will be a limited run as well, I'll have the info on how many soon.

                          I'd buy a pair anyway...

Even though both of mine have brand new NOS headlights installed I'd buy at least one pair ( maybe two pair ) to support the cause. I'm really looking forward to those inner lights!

The headlights were NEVER painted...they have always been plated and likewise the new lights will be plated as the originals were.
